New Book to Chronicle the History of Sesame Street

Viking Press is planning to release an new book that explores the incredible history of the world's most famous street. "Street Gang: The Complete History of Sesame Street" will chronicle the inspiring 40-year history of Sesame Street. The book, authored by former TV Guide editor Michael Davis, will take an extensive look at the development, rise and enduring success of television's most influential children's show. This 384-page hardcover book will be released by Viking Press later this year -- tentatively planned to hit store shelves in December 2008. For more than five years, Davis has conducted over 200 in-depth interviews with Sesame Street's key players in order to collect the definitive story of this beloved show. "Street Gang: The Complete History of Sesame Street" is sure to be a treat for any fan of Sesame Street, and I'll be sure to keep you updated as more details on this exciting book continue to surface.

Hopefully it's more accurate than Unpaved. On Muppet Wiki, it's amazing how many mistakes or complete fabrications have been found in that book.

It was a great coffee table book, not the best reference material.
