Kermit Lobbies Congress

Kermit the Frog appeared in Washington, D.C. yesterday to help promote awareness for endangered amphibians and to speak on behalf of his amphibian brethren. Sponsored by the Association of Zoos & Aquariums, the famous Muppet frog spoke alongside conservationists on Capitol Hill on March 12th. 2008 has been dubbed "The Year of the Frog" by environmentalists in an effort to raise awareness for the plight of amphibians and to help combat the decreasing frog populations caused by loss of habitat.

Nice video.

It's no surprise that Kermit would jump on the "Save the Frogs" bandwagon.

Go Kermit!

I know it was said in kind of a froggy tongue-in-cheek manner, but could the direct recitation of a particular current campaign slogan imply Kermit's support of Barack Obama? Of course the frog performed at Bill Clinton's first inauguration so I still see him as an equal opportunity frog. I just thought it was funny to hear the "Change you can believe in" bit from him. This makes one think who the pig would support? Gonzo likely supports Dennis Kucinich after admitting his seeing the UFO.

All this post is said in jest of course! I think it was very cool Kermit got to speak on behalf of his less felt and foam brethren. Go Kermit! Go frogs!
