Elmo Comes Alive!

You will want to toss your Tickle-Me-Elmo away and put your Chicken Dance Elmo into storage, because Fisher-Price has just revealed a new Elmo toy that is sure to leave all those other talking dolls in the dust. Elmo Live is the latest interactive toy from Fisher-Price and Sesame Workshop.

The Elmo Live doll actually appears to speak as his mouth opens and closes just like the real Muppet. Elmo Live waves his arms, sits and stands, and even crosses his legs, while telling stories and jokes, singing songs and playing games. The doll comes loaded with stories, jokes, songs, games and other unique interactions that will keep you entertained for hours.

The toy was first show to the public yesterday at a special Valentine's Day demonstration. Elmo Live is simply one of the most exciting, engaging, entertaining and expressive new toys. The talking doll is set to invade stores on October 14, 2008 (just in time for holidays) and will carry the suggested retail price of $59.99. For more information and to see the doll in action, check out the video below.

I have to be honest - this is cool! Elmo is my least favorite Sesame Muppet, but he's the perfect test subject for this sort of toy. This is the Christmas toy of 2008!

I was surpised that he wasn't as stiff as previous incarnations. A side to side neck joint would likely be the only addition to improve him, but it doesn't appear he needs that.

I hope they continue this series with Ernie, Oscar, Bert, Cookie and Grover. They'll probably just do this with Abby next.

Intersting, though I'm pretty sure they'll be a whole lot of angrey Old School fans complaining about this toy for months and whine more about not having more early episodes on DVD. Not to mention the many bashing video that will flood Youtube.

I think this is pretty cool to be honest and I don't like elmo, for the most part anyway.
I can just see an army of these things taking over the world right now lol

Even better how about a Erine doll and a Bert doll that would interact with each other. That would be cool.
