More Dark Crystal
Remember back in May when The Jim Henson Company announced that they will be producing a sequel to The Dark Crystal? (click here to refresh your memory). Well, at their 50th anniversary panel at Comic-Con, the Company announced that a prequel is in the works as well! The Jim Henson Company announced that they are planning a 2-D anime-style series that will be a prequel to "The Dark Crystal". The series will show life before the crystal cracked, what happened when it did crak, how the Gelfling race was eliminated, and a lot more of the Dark Crystal. The show will premiere on Cartoon Network's "Toonami" programming block, although a date hasn't been specified yet. I will keep you posted as more information surfaced about the animated show (and the upcoming film too).

Notice how it's only the smart people who don't wonder why the Henson legacy is in tatters...
If they got the same people who made the Clone Wars cartoon on board for this, it might be good!
And it's not like the previous Henson forays into animation ruined the Muppets or Fraggle Rock for anyone. ;)
I was under the impression that Tokyopop had signed with the JHC to produce a prequel manga (i.e. a comic), not an animated film.

see thats everyones problem, you worry more on the medium and style rather than the story and storytelling techniques, does it really matter if its anime or watever, be happy for the fact they are filling in gaps in the story instead of complaining about issues that dont really matter. of coarse its gonna be different since its a different director and different artists, look past if its traditional or 3d animation or puppetry, thats the reason why majority of animated shows now suck. WORRY ABOUT THE STORY!!!
What ever happened to the Hensons that used to cool things with elaborate puppets? It seems now it's all CGI and contracted cartoons they tag there name on.
