Ok seriously , While that is great , It pisses me off, if they were going to do a Total Box set , i wouldnt have bothered to buy the other 3 box sets,

Umm...Does that mean the fourth wouldn't be released on its own, with the missing features? Those of us who have purchased the previous seasons are going to have to double dip?

I believe the fourth season will come out as a single final season set as well. That is as standard a practice as releasing the additional series set at the end of the DVD release schedule. It's unfortunate, but it happens all the time. The Fraggle treatments have been complete and with lots of extra goodies.

While it is infuriating for supportive fans to double dip how many fans would have resisted the individual season sets and waited over three years and two months for the complete series box set? Of course, without firm fan support nothing would have been released.

Irritating state of the business, but not uncommon. Still, I do believe the fourth season will have a single pressing around the same time. I'm going for the full set.

It's fine for them to release a complete set, BUT ONLY IF THEY ALSO RELEASE THE 4TH SEASON SOLO, WITH EVERY SPECIAL FEATURE FROM THE COMPLETE SET INCLUDED. Sorry to shout... but I'm going to be doing more than that if they don't do the right thing. Who among us, really, had any confidence that a DVD release of Fraggle Rock would be popular enough to warrant a release of all four seasons individually? It's only been possible because of all us loyal fans who have bought seasons 1, 2, and 3 when they came out. To PUNISH us for this by releasing some special features only on the complete set would be UNACCEPTABLE.

Ahem.

I have to agree with everybody. It really stinks (and that's putting it WAY lightly) that the people who supported the DVD releases, allowing a full set to be made, will be robbed of a whole bunch of bonus features for having bought them all individually, in the first place.

Maybe they can put them all onto a single bonus disc, with an online offer, if you provide proof of having bought all of the four sets. It's way too much money when you double-dip a complete series. A movie is one thing, but this is something way different. I hope they realize this, and do right by the fans who allowed this to happen by speaking with their wallets.

Yeah, I'm quite upset about this as well. Bad, bad form. If some avenue isn't made for loyal fans who purchased the sets individually to get this amazing-looking extra content -- perhaps a mail-in offer included with Season 4 that (although unless you saved your original receipts, I don't see how you could prove you owned the previous three, since there's no easy-to-clip proof of purchase on the packaging) -- this will leave a hugely bad taste in my mouth.

TV Shows On DVD had a good article about this, pointing out that the lesson this teaches consumers is NOT to buy seasons as they come out, for fear of missing out on a superior set down the line. And they're right; after this, I will never trust HiT again ... they can count on me NOT to take a chance on their initial series releases in the future.

Right, John, and the ultimate outcome of people not buying seasons as they are released is that it will be decided there isn't enough viewer interest to finish the season releases OR put out a complete set! So really, companies have MUCH to lose by not treating their loyal fans correctly.

But let's be calm; no one has yet said the special features WON'T be on the season 4 release, right? There's ample time for them to do right by us.

I hate when companies do this. ive already bought/re-bought much of my dvd collection already. I have multiple copies of the muppet films and non muppet ones such as star wars, futurama, Disney and Monty python just to name a few.

Ive just stopped buying these re-releases now as ive got a big pile of disks which i cannot re-sell (as most of mine are Region 1 but i live in the U.K so nobody really wants them.

Though this set looks so good, i dont really know if i should re-buy or just buy series 4 and miss out on some of these features, Anybody want a huge pile of dvd's cheap???

I hope that these special features will also be included on the 4th Season set, and not only on the Complete Series one. I really don't wanna double-dip since I like individual sets better than those monster-boxes and the FR sets are so pretty and already filled with bonus material.
Actually the only special feature I want on the 4th Season set from the Complete set is the new Red short.
I know it is common to realease complete sets, but screwing with the loyal fans and buyers who made this possible is just soooo unfair.
Usually I only watch the bonus stuff once, but it'd be nice to have the best of the Complete set bonus on the 4th season set.
And I find it really weird that HiT has announced the Complete set, but the single 4 season not yet, although I think those will come out on the same day.

I love Fraggle Rock, and have always thought it was underrated. As it is one show that both kids and adults could enjoy equally.

I actually waited on the individual seasons because I knew they'd do a box set, so I'm stoked! It does suck though for those who bought the other seasons.

I'm glad I live in Australia, where the fourth season has already been released on its own.
Still, I can understand how those who buy the season sets individually would be annoyed because of the special features they have to miss out on if they don't want to double dip.

Wake up, folks! HIT Entertainment has released NO INFORMATION about a stand-alone Season 4 boxset of Fraggle Rock. So not only are you going to miss out on extra content, you might also miss out on the entire Season 4! Unless you decide to give in and rebuy seasons 1-3 just to get season 4 in the complete collection.

I love fraggle rock. I have all of the first 3 seasons. When I first heard that HIT would be coming out with a 4 season box set I actually thought that owning it would be cool just having it. I never thought that I would have to buy it before the 4th season came out. I am very disoppointed with HIT. I mean I get that putting this on the market as a anneversary collectors set is nice and all but this isn't the smartest move HIT has made. But I will still get the 4-season box set along with the 4th season box set when it comes out. I do wish that HIT would had thought of this more carefully. But big coorporations are like the government, they never do anything that actually make sence!

Oh, it makes sense. HIT Entertainment is just throwing mud in our faces and laughing at our plight.

"You bought the first three seasons? Great! Now you can buy them all over again, for the same price, and we know you will because you love the Fraggles soooo much!"

That's not a direct quote from them, but that's what they might as well be telling us. I'd prefer the honesty. It's a shame Jim Henson's work is left in the hands of swindlers.
