Rather (as confirmed even by the Henson Company' spress release, though one has to read it carefully), Henson is currently partnered with the Weinsteins, and under the "Jim Henson Company: Discoveries" is releasing "third party produced titles that
reflect the Company’s long-standing tradition of creative excellence."

The Blue Elephant is actually a 2006 CG film from Thailand, released their as ''Khan Kluay''. This DVD simply dubs it into English and adds extras. That's Henson's sole involvement, about the same as when John Lasseter produced the dubs of several Miyazaki films only without the personal relationship to the original filmmaker and with a primary aim of getting a product out on the DVD market (this was common enough in the VHS days, and before that, with kiddie matinees, as producers would buy foreign product cheap and dub it).Andrew Lealhttps://www.blogger.com/profile/04536423892525694724noreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-11637710.post-85270612726242350442008-08-21T02:58:00.000-04:002008-08-21T02:58:00.000-04:00These DVDs appear to be mere ATMs to get cash for ...These DVDs appear to be mere ATMs to get cash for what Henson Co really wants to do. I hope the money helps fund the new Dark Crystal film.frogboy4https://www.blogger.com/profile/16188415653115644672noreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-11637710.post-79959211397816410162008-08-19T14:20:00.000-04:002008-08-19T14:20:00.000-04:00Sad; the Henson company has become just another co...Sad; the Henson company has become just another company releasing cheap direct-to-DVD tripe.
You know what even sadder? Hearing your lame negative remarks on the Henson projects. Don't count your egg before they hatch, bub.

Note that I'm not saying that the project will work. I'm just saying wait until an actual review comes up before a final judgementAnonymousnoreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-11637710.post-13081368786812853432008-08-19T13:38:00.000-04:002008-08-19T13:38:00.000-04:00Sad; the Henson company has become just another co...Sad; the Henson company has become just another company releasing cheap direct-to-DVD tripe.Anonymousnoreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-11637710.post-4013588192983682242008-08-19T10:34:00.000-04:002008-08-19T10:34:00.000-04:00Sounds like a Lion King ripoff.Sounds like a Lion King ripoff.Anonymousnoreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-11637710.post-7283147511858598872008-08-18T02:47:00.000-04:002008-08-18T02:47:00.000-04:00Frogboy I couldn't agree more!Frogboy I couldn't agree more!Vaughn Michaelhttps://www.blogger.com/profile/09908092317468356061noreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-11637710.post-4606770331679714532008-08-17T21:00:00.000-04:002008-08-17T21:00:00.000-04:00I would like to see some more puppet stuff get mor...I would like to see some more puppet stuff get more face-time with the Henson Company than so many of these DVD toons. It looks okay, it just doesn't seem interesting enough to bear the Henson label. To be honest it doesn't seem Henson-like at all. I'll still check out the trailer once it rolls around the web.frogboy4https://www.blogger.com/profile/16188415653115644672noreply@blogger.com
